UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) clothing is designed to block harmful UVA and UVB rays from reaching your skin. Unlike SPF, which measures how sunscreen performs, UPF measures the UV protection built directly into fabric. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, UPF-rated gear helps reduce the risk of skin cancer, sunburn, and long-term exposure.
Farwell gear is third-party tested and certified UPF 50+, blocking over 98% of harmful UV rays. A standard cotton tee only offers a UPF rating of about 5–7, which means most UV rays pass straight through.
No. The UPF protection in Farwell gear is woven into the fabric, not added as a coating. It won’t wash out or fade over time — the only way protection drops is if the material gets holes or stretched to transparency.
Machine wash cold with similar colors. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. Avoid fabric softeners and high heat to maintain performance and fit.
Farwell combines two decades of sun protection expertise with performance-driven design. Every piece is certified UPF 50+, built to last, and made for the people who work hardest under the sun. For us, sun protection is not an afterthought, its at the heart of everything we do.
